Sarah Chalke

Sarah Chalke was conceived in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on August 27, 1976. Angie Chalke is her mother and Doug Chalke are her father. She is the middle child with one older sister, Natasha Chalke, and one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah began her acting career in a TV-made movie, City Boy (1992). After her first film, Sarah auditioned in 1993 for the role of "Becky" from Roseanne (1988). The show was searching for an alternative to the character after Alicia Goranson quit the show to attend college. Sarah completed her high school graduation in 1995 when she was filming the season 1994-1995 of Roseanne (1988). Sarah also starred alongside Jim Varney (1994) in Ernest Goes to School (1994). Then, in 1996 she starred in 2 films, including Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear (1996) where she played a cheerleader "Krista Wilson". Sarah was asked to perform in a 1998 TV show called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy. The show was released one year following Roseanne (1988). The show was based on the television movie with the same name that was titled Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) that Sarah was also a part of. In 1993 she assumed Becky's part on Roseanne (1988). She declared that she'd like to quit acting and attend college. [2001] (1993-1997) Played younger sister of Sara Gilbert on Roseanne (1988) however she is older in real life. Participated in the 1999 CCMA Award Ceremony, in which she was presented with an award for the top single of the year. September 1999: Appeared at age of 8 in Vancouver's stage productions. Is fluent in French as well as German. She volunteers at a hospice for children who are terminally ill and works for the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. In her spare time, Chalke prefers cooking with other friends (especially Thai and sushi) playing guitar, hiking, skiing (she's an instructor) and snowboarding, kayaking and reading. Her father is an attorney and both parents operate an agency for adoption of children. Her parents brought her to China to oversee the adoptions of many orphans.
