Kari Matchett Biography

Kari Matchett (Canadian actress) is well-known for her role in films like Apartment Hunting' and Men with Brooms'. Born in Spalding, Saskatchewan and raised in the area, she later relocated to Alberta where she completed high school. She began to pursue acting as a hobby in her teens. In order to further her training in acting she went to the National Theatre School' in Montreal as well as the Moscow Theatre School'. She first appeared on television in 1996 as a supporting actress in the Canadian series, 'The Rez. She also appeared in series such as "Ready or Not" and "Forever Knight". She also made her debut in film in the latter part of 1990 with the film titled 'Papertrail' and later acted in films like "Men with Brooms" and 'Cypher.' She also played supporting roles in series' such as 'A Nero Wolfe Mystery' and  Blue Murder.' Although she kept appearing in films throughout the decade however, her appearances in films were fewer compared to the roles she played on television. In 1998, she was cast as the main role of Colleen Blessed in the Canadian drama series Power Play. The series ran for 2 seasons with 26 episodes. It received commercial and critical acclaim. Her role in the series was recognized with a 'Gemini Award. Jude Lyon Matchett, her son, was born to her in June of 2013. She didn't reveal the name of the father of her son though. According to some sources, the father of her son is her ex-boyfriend. Kari Matchett met T.W. Peacocke and Kari Matchett began dating in the late 1990s. The couple got married in 1998. The marriage, however, did not last long and the couple divorced in the year 2006.
