She grew up with two of her sisters Kaitlyn, and Carolyn. Kelly hasn't shared any information about her parents such as their names or professions. When she was a kid she would often attend sports events together with her father, which included games of baseball, which resulted in her falling love with the sport. Kelly received a Bachelor's Degree in Youth Development Leadership from Clemson in South Carolina when she was done with high school. She later enrolled in the University of Miami, where she completed a master's degree in Broadcast Journalism. Kelly was part of the ACC Digital Network's intern team and worked as an assistant to the production. Following her work experience, Kelly received an offer to join the ACC Digital Networks. She began working as a reporter for sports-related news in addition to conducting interviews for the program "ACC Kickoff", aired on Saturdays. From 2012 to 2013, she was employed by the network for two years. During that time, she also contributed to "ACC NOW". After her stint at ACC Digital Network ended, she became a part of Fox Sports Florida as a reporter on the sidelines. Due to her efforts she was hired by Fox Sports Sun, covering the Tampa Bay Rays, Orlando Magic and Tampa Bay Lightning franchises, covering stories and news about the particular clubs.
