Melanie Jayne Lynskey

Melanie Jayne Lynskey (born 16 May 1977) is a New Zealand actress. She is well-known for her humorous, soft-spoken, yet tough characters. She works mainly in films that are independent. Her accolades include the New Zealand Film Award. A Hollywood Film Award. Sundance Special Jury Award. Gotham Award. Golden Nymph Award. Critics' Choice Award. Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Lynskey's film debut was as a teenage killer in Peter Jackson’s Heavenly Creatures (1994). After moving to the United States in 1994, Lynskey launched a successful career acting in supporting roles in a wide range of high-budget and smaller-scale movies, such as Ever After (1998) and Detroit Rock City and But I'm a Cherleader (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000), Abandon and Sweet Home Alabama (1902), Shattered Glass (2003) and Flags of Our Fathers (2006). Lynskey has received praise from critics and an award nomination for the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Performer for her role in the film as a divorced woman who is depressed. Hello I Must Be Going (2012) that proved to be a pivotal stage for her career. She has been a prominent actor in the American independent film industry due to her subsequent performances in Happy Christmas. We'll Never Have Paris. Goodbye to All That (all 2014), The Intervention. Rainbow Time. Little Boxes. I'm Not at Home in This World. And Then I'm Off. Lady of the Manor. (2021). Lynskey's role as Rose in CBS the sitcom Two and a Half Men (1903-2015) made her famous. She was the star of Togetherness between 2015 and 2016, where she received a nomination from the Critics' Choice Television Awards as the best Supporting Actress. She provided the voices of Beatrice for Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall (2014) and Megan for Disney XD's Future-Worm! (2016-2018). She was in Molly Strand's initial season on Hulu (2018) as well as Rosemary Thomson was her role in Mrs. America (2020).
