Penelope Cruz Sanchez was born in Madrid to Eduardo Cruz, a retailer and Encarna Sanchez, a hairdresser. When she was a baby she was already an avid performer, performing commercials on TV for her parents' amusement. However, she chose to concentrate on dancing.
